Writings

Here are some poems that I just thought would be pretty neat to put up...

Some of these poems are mine (jj), others should have the writers' names on the bottom. If you have any you want me to put up, please don't heasitate to send them in.

My original "GoodBye" Poem
As sands through an hourglass,
Our years pass by.
We stop to say hello-
But never think about- Goodbye...

While the seasons keep changing,
Others draw near.
Finally through it all
We begin to realize our fear...

That we will all grow up soon,
Not that it's bad.
But when we look again,
It can make us all very sad.

The people with who we've grown-
All leaving now.
we won't see them again,
Make the most of our lives we vow.

Luckily we still have time,
We're not gone yet.
We have time-- say Goodbye-
And hopefully never forget.

This year's "GoodBye" poem
Another year gone,
A day in the past.
The time flew by,
It went so fast.

Yesterday is lost.
Today is brand new.
The future, unknown.
Still do not rue.

Remember the past
Through all the good deeds-
Good times and bad,
For these are the seeds.

But live your life now,
And live for today.
Look toward the future-
Bring what it may.

But just remember,
Before you go...
To say goodbye
To those you know.

P.S. I Love You

I love the way you laugh.
I love the way you cry.
I love the way you smile at me
And never tell me why.

I love the feeling you give to me.
I love the way you try.
I love it when you talk to me
And tell me not to lie.

I love the way you care for me.
I love the way you show it.
I love the way you make me feel special
And you don't even know it.

I love the person you let me see.
I love the person shown through.
I love the person that sees the real me.
P.S. I love you.

There walks a man in the rain today
With little left to the world to say
Dragonskin boots from his knees to his toes
Superstitions come true wherever he goes
Short wizard's beard with a gleam in his eye
Deny him his work? Why should you dare try??
This guy has a wondrous job, you see
The task of upholding the mysteries
A tome in one hand and a pipe in his mouth
From which little bubbles do constantly spout
And a spring in his step and a smile to share
Beneath his black tuft of overgrown hair
A tip of his hat and away he will wander
Through your imagination and yonder
This man has wrestled ten bulls by the horn
And ran in the woods with the last unicorn
He's sings every song that's ever been sung
And you can be sure that before he is done
He'll come up to you and give you a glance
And take you for one last, insane flying dance
And when he is through and exhausted at last
He'll grin at you broadly and walk right on past
You've added a tale to forever, you see
And helped to keep living the mystery.

This is just an article in a magazine by my Chao

Dragonfly motifs are popping up everywhere this summer!

These delightfully large insects are making their way onto jewelry, planters, candles, garden accessories and even shoe designs!

Visit Macy's to find wire dragonfly garden stakes with green glass candleholders, or square candleholders with embossed dragonflies on each side.

Restoration Hardware continues the theme with dragonfly doorknockers and sold brass pillar and votive candleholders!

Natural Wonders carries dragonfly water fountains and incense burners.

I Loved You Enough

Someday when my children are old enough to understand the logic that motivates a parent, I will tell them:
I loved you enough to ask you about where you were going, with whom and what time you woould be home.
I loved you enough to insist that you buy a bike with your own money that we could have afforded to give you.
I loved you enough to be silent and let you discover that your handpicked friend was a creep.
I loved you enough to stand over you for two hours while you cleaned your room, a job that would have taken me fifteen minutes to do myself.
I loved you enough to let you see the anger, disappointment, disgust, and tears in my eyes.
I loved you enough to admit I was wrong and ask for your forgiveness.
I loved you enough to let you stumble, fall and hurt.
I loved you enough to let you assume responsibility for your actions at 6, 10 or 16.
But most of all, I loved you enough to say No when you hated me for it. That was the hardest part of all.
